Our Story

Founded in 1980 by journalist Fernando Silva-Pinto, Idea Television started as the Capitol's outpost for Globo TV, the largest news organization in South America. Our team produces live newscasts, long form documentary content, commercial advertising, and everything in between. With clients as diverse as Mastercard, Mercedes-Benz, and the World Health Organization; and a news team that's covered everything from September 11th to Katrina, we're confident we can deliver your message with the seriousness and creativity it deserves.


Luis Fernando Silva-Pinto

President

Luis Fernando started his career as a reporter for a leading São Paulo newspaper, Jornal da Tarde, in 1971. Five years later, he became a correspondent for TV Globo - the largest broadcaster in Brazil and Latin America - and for the next 15 years was posted in Buenos Aires, New York, London and Washington for Globo's news division. He holds a Bachelor's in Journalism from Cásper Líbero College in Brazil and a Master's in Politics and Journalism from Universidad de Navarra in Spain.  In 1990, he founded IDEA Television. Nowadays, he directs the company and remains a correspondent for IDEA's main clients in the news area: TV Globo and the 24-hour news channel Globo News.


Vicente Cinque

Vicente

Vicente received a Bachelor´s degree in journalism from the Universidad Central de Venezuela. In 1992, he started as a reporter for "Meridiano" the main sport newspaper in the country. In 2003, he received his Masters Degree in Fine Arts with specialty in Film Production from Ohio University. During his student years, he produced several short films and documentaries in the United States and Europe. Vicente joined IDEA television in June 2003. As Senior Producer, he crafted hundreds of news stories, reports, live shows and events in the United States, Europe, Asia and Latin America. One of his latest works includes the German-based production of a series of reports on the World Cup called "The Other Side of the Ball" and the "Pelé Comments the World Cup", a show distributed to broadcasters in Latin America.


Daniel Peter

Head of Post Production

Daniel obtained his bachelor's degree in film from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. After working as an editor and animator for Cortina Productions and LivingSocial in the D.C. area, he joined our team as the new head of post production. His previous works include the World Health Organization's Dengue Control Program, the Porsche GT3 Development Series, and the 2014 NAB Show in Las Vegas. His editing style and animation capabilities ensure that your project will have a consistent and elegant visual theme.
